We have lots going on to appeal to as many of our locals as possible... Every Sunday night - New pub quiz from 8.30pm. Open The Box - winning team gets to choose to open one of three boxes to win: a meal for two, a bottle of wine or the cash pot! Every Monday night - Open Mic night - bring your instruments along and join our open mic night for a fun, diverse night of music. Saturday 13th April - New artist - accoustic singer/songwriter Issy - 9pm Plus Rodeo Bull - free Bucking Bronco! MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKENDJoin us for a weekend of live music, loads of great beers and much much more... Friday 3rd May from 9.00pm we have our regular artist, Ben Stancombe from 9pm Saturday 4th May we will have a number of bands throughout the day and night, with The Murmur from 9pm Sunday 5th May - our new female acoustic solo artist Izzy will be playing outside in the marquee from 8pm, with our Pub Quiz running inside as usual. Monday 6th May - Open Mic Night from 9pm. Bring along your instruments and show us your stuff! Or just come and enjoy a great, diverse range of music and great beer! There will be outside bars, barbecues and a free bouncy castle all weekend, with camping available as usual. Let's look forward to Summer in style...! ************************************************ May is also the Month of Mild What is mild? Milds are black to dark brown to pale amber in colour and come in a variety of styles from warming roasty ales to light refreshing lunchtime thirst quenchers. Malty and possibly sweet tones dominate the flavour profile but there may be a light hop flavour or aroma. Slight diacetyl (toffee/butterscotch) flavours are not inappropriate. Alcohol levels are typically low. Pale milds tend to have a lighter, more fruity aroma with gentle hoppiness. Dark milds may have a light roast malt or caramel character in aroma and taste. We will have a variety of different milds for you to try throughout May. |

Kicking off with our favourite artist, Ben Stancombe (whose new album, Falling, can be downloaded on iTunes now by the way!) our Open Mic night is proving quite popular, with a number of the regulars bringing in their own instruments and showcasing their talents! And whilst he's a bit shy about it our landlord Sam has shown he can hold a tune or two!
